Jewelry Care

Taking proper care of your jewelry is the best way to ensure it's durability.

  • Ideally, remove all jewelry when showering and particularly when at the beach, the sea and in chlorinated water.

  • It is advisable not to wear jewelry during exercise, gardening, cleaning, applying beauty products, or any activity that involves exposing your jewelry to repeated knocking, scratching, or hard and abrasive surfaces.

  • Store pieces individually, as jewelry can become scratched after being in contact with other metals, stones or hard objects.

  • Store your pieces in a box or jewelry pouch, like the one you received when purchasing your item, to avoid abrasion from unknown materials or chemicals present in containers not designed to be in contact with jewelry.

  • When storing a chain, make sure to fasten the clasp first to prevent knots.

Cleaning Jewelry

We recommend cleaning your jewelry regularly using gentle soap, warm water, and a very soft brush before letting the piece dry over a lint-free cloth. Having your jewelry professionally cleaned and serviced every 6 months to a year, depending on wear, is advisable.

Caring for Precious Stones and Enamel

All stones, including diamonds, may chip if hit with enough force. Gemstones and glass enamel are delicate and easily abraded, therefore, care should be taken to avoid harsh contact when worn.

Silver

Silver will naturally tarnish over time and the amount of tarnishing (oxidation) that occurs is dependent on the skin and care habits of the wearer. Follow our Cleaning Recommendations to prevent the natural process of tarnishing.

Porous Gemstones & Pearls

Pearls, as well as porous gemstones like Turquoise and Opals, can be stained by oils or liquids, so it is important to avoid contact with moisturizers, perfumes and chemicals.

It is recommended to use a soft dry lint-free cloth to carefully remove any dirt that has gathered around the stone and setting.
